Thank you for stopping by A. Reneé Makeup Artistry. I’m so glad to have you here. Allow me a moment to share a little about myself.

The most frequently asked question I receive is, “How did you get started in makeup?” Well the answer is... It was a God thing!

I was actually hired for seasonal work in a department store and on my last day, the Human Resource manager asked me to stay on full time in their cosmetics department. At that time, all I wore was lip gloss and mascara. The particular line I was working for was a new cosmetic line (Bobbi Brown Cosmetics) that was willing to train. This training process consisted of being presented with a model and being told to “Make her look like an enhanced version of herself.” As afraid as I was, it came so natural to me. Not tooting my own horn, but I did pretty good for a first timer! Needless to say I got the job!

I worked for Bobbi Brown for several years while gaining more education, instruction and confidence. (Again, a God thing.) After leaving Bobbi Brown, I worked in two different high-end women boutiques selling several other cosmetic lines while steadily gaining education, instruction and confidence.

After that, I decided to go to school to receive my license in aesthetics. During all of this, I worked as a freelance makeup artist on the side. Once I finished school, I was employed for a short time at a salon doing skin care and makeup, with my makeup business growing rapidly. So much that I was nominated for Best of Jackson Makeup Artist 2017, won Best of Jackson Aesthetician 2018 and as of now, nominated for Best of Jackson Aesthetician 2019.

Makeup is truly my passion! Although I love doing makeup for all occasions, weddings are by far my absolute favorite! To be chosen to do a bride’s makeup on one of the most special and memorable days of her life is such an honor. To have my work, my art, on the many beautiful faces I enhance daily, creates memories that last a lifetime. To know that I had a part in that does something to my heart.
